The new place

on

Well, we're here in Wilsonville. I won't say we're quite settled in because as I look around me I see boxes, boxes, and more boxes. As our friends were carrying all the stuff into the apartment, I just kept thinking, "Is there ever going to be an end?" We really have way too much stuff. I thought we pared down our possessions because we knew we were moving into a smaller place, but we obviously did not pare enough. This apartment is probably half the size of our house. The refrigerator is smaller, the dishwasher is smaller, even the toilet seems smaller.

Things are coming along, though. Since I am just a stay-at-home mommy now I have nothing else to do but hang out in the apartment and unpack, so I imagine I'll get it together pretty soon.

It's weird to be back in an apartment after living in a house for three years. Weird to hear other people walking around and talking and watching TV above us and below us and on either side of us.

Actually, this is a very quiet apartment complex. Especially during the day. I think most people work or are in school because it is very deserted during the day. And pretty quiet at night, too.

So for the last few days I've just been hanging out in the apartment, unpacking and unpacking and more unpacking. It's finally sunny today so maybe Beth and I will go for a walk when she wakes up from her nap and check out the neighborhood a little bit. The library is not far away so I think we'll go there. I'm hoping the library will give us a library card based on our rental agreeement or some such document, because it's the only thing we have so far that proves our residence in town, and I can't be content for long without library access.
